Why the name Warda?

A name filled with song, warmth and love for Egypt.

Warda Al-Jazairia—born Warda Mohamed Ftouki—started singing young, then came to Egypt in the early 1960s for a defining chapter of her career with many of the Arab world's leading composers and musicians.

She received Egyptian citizenship in the early 1980s and left a vast catalogue that still lives at family tables and gatherings, from Al Oyoun El Soud and Khaleek Hena to Batwanes Beek and Harramt Ahebak.

Every Arab artist seeking success must go to the source of art — Egypt.

That is where our name begins

We chose Warda as a cultural tribute to a name that carries grace, strength and Arab memory. Our Egyptian restaurant in Al Khobar wants to offer the same warmth of gathering, generous hospitality and sense of home.

The name is a cultural inspiration. The restaurant is not affiliated with Warda Al-Jazairia, her estate or her heirs.
